Chanctonbury Ring

Chanctonbury Ring is a small Iron Age hill fort on the South Downs in Sussex.

It was later used as a religious site by the Romans. In more recent times there have been stories of ghosts and UFO sightings, and even evidence of modern witchcraft at this location!

My personal favourite is this one - it is said that if you run seven times anticlockwise around the Ring, the Devil will appear and offer you a bowl of soup in exchange for your soul.
