Awake
"Every man has to learn the points of compass again as often as he awakes, whether from sleep or any abstraction. Not till we are lost, in other words, not till we have lost the world, do we begin to find ourselves, and realize where we are and the infinite extent of our relations."
Henry David Thoreau

Domsteinane
In Sola there was a stone circle which stood on this site in ancient times and then fell into ruin. In 2008 it was reconstructed using the original stones by Rogaland County Council, based on descriptions and measurements that were first taken in 1745.
Domsteinane consists of 24 raised stones in a circle with a rectangular slab (an altar or table?) in the centre. Radiating out from the centre there are eight rows of smaller stones, like the spokes of a wheel. To the side of the "altar" there are two white stones, possibly for sitting.
In Norway, such stone circles are quite unusual. Nobody really knows the age or purpose of Domsteinane.
