It was a very dark and stormy night .......

In fact to my eyes, it was almost completely pitch black. This is a 30 second exposure which has rendered the wild sea calm, and lit the landscape with the auroral glow from above the clouds. I have not adjusted the colour cast in this picture.

Aurora comes to town #2

For the second night running, the Northern Lights are visible here in the south of Norway. This time I photographed them from the coast very close to my home.

Aurora comes to town!!

I've travelled far and wide (OK, mostly north) in search of the aurora, but last night it came home to me! A barely moving faint green band hung in the northern sky over Stavanger.

In this shot I managed to catch a meteorite and a passing ship too.
