A nice touch - someone placed fresh daffodils in the hand of the statue of Billy Fury, Albert Dock, Liverpool.

Love Padlocks

Many padlocks are locked to the railings and chains of Albert Dock in Liverpool. Some are engraved, some written on in pen.  The idea is that your love will last forever if you put your lock there, and throw the key into the River Mersey.

"Verity" is Damien Hirst's 20 metre high bronze statue which stands at the entrance of Ilfracombe Harbour in Devon.  Local opinion is divided, with one resident even asking me, "Are you really taking pictures of that?!"
